But the view from my window today tells a different story. The excitement has soured into a cutthroat scramble, with unhealthy competition creeping over the community I once found so inspiring. At my core, I’m a writer—and Rats in a Barrel is my way of saying something about this shift, while hopefully offering a little entertainment along the way.
