LAST DRIVER
Creator/Writer
Last Driver is my love letter to the B-movie hero—loud, reckless, and defiantly over-the-top. Co-created with the legendary Shaky Kane and published by Dead Canary Comics, it’s a monster-stomping, beer-soaked road trip through the apocalypse, led by a character I built from the tarmac up: Frank Sudden.
Frank is part action cliché, part existential burnout, and all attitude. I wanted to create a character who felt instantly familiar yet unmistakably original, someone who could hold his own in the chaotic indie comic world without ever pretending to be deep. He’s a former art student turned accidental action hero, riding headfirst into giant lizards, highway warlords, and deathmatch arenas... with a grin on his face and a cooler in the backseat.
Writing Last Driver meant leaning into pulp storytelling with purpose—pacing it fast, playing with genre tropes, and giving Shaky the playground he deserves. It’s a wild, kinetic, testosterone-charged ride that knows exactly what it is and doesn’t give a damn if you can’t keep up.
Frank Sudden earned his seat at the indie table by doing what he does best—driving like hell straight through the end of the world.
“Last Driver is a riotous, raucous road movie of a comic”
